The first step is to decide what your main subject is and to draw your viewer’s eyes to it. The old artists (ever heard of Michelangelo?) used this and even in nature it is something to be often found: imagine dividing your picture into 9 even squares, by drawing two vertical lines and two horizontal lines . This will give you 4 points where the lines cross. Try to place your main point of attention on one of these points.
